You have found my links to "Gems" page. Over the years, I have
discovered some really great & useful
programs. I have found many of the authors
to be very quality oriented, and take great pride
in their craft & software creations.
Many are available free, or at minimal
cost. In my opinion, these are the best and
my favorites:
- IrfanView
From Austria, this is my long-time
favorite. It is a small, and fast graphics
viewer. It is in constant daily use.
- Astronomy
Picture of the Day
Also not software, but a daily photo site from
NASA. See and learn something new about the
universe every single day.
- AdMuncher
Small and fast, active control and elimination of
internet advertising and spying.
- CkRename
Great program for mass renaming of files under
Windows.
- Attribute
Changer
Nice program for mass changing of file's
attribute under Windows.
- Spyware
Blaster
Fantastic program that takes no system resources,
while blocking Spying software at the registry
level.
- Super AntiSpyware
Highly rated with active, updated profiles.
- SpyBot
S&D
Another standby security program. This
German edition scans for active control of
spy and bot programs for your system.
- FileSync
& FTP Sync
From GB, my favorite program for syncing mass
files located in different locations. (FTP
for syncing web server)
- Skrzynka
Bogiego
Now discontinues, this nice little Polish program is for peeking and
deleting your e-mail, without having to open or
download anything. Helps control spam, and
helps prevents virus infections.
- PT
Assembler
Do you like my panoramic photos? For really
detailed, high resolution accuracy, use this with
Photoshop. Talk about a huge "learning
curve" ... but worth it!
